Summary

When a troubled youth, Londy Atkins, is arrested for the murder of the mayor, Detective Carly Edwards is summoned to the crime scene. Carly presses him for a confession, but Londy swears his innocence and the evidence Carly uncovers corroborates his claim. Yet homicide is convinced of his guilt and ignores her evidence. Stunned, surprised, and fearing a cover-up, Carly disobeys a direct order and continues to investigate on her own
